Former pharmaceutical boss Daniel Vasella is having a traditional farmhouse demolished. He is thereby building in a problematic zone.

The family of former Novartis boss Daniel Vasella owns an area of more than 100,000 square meters on the shores of Lake Zug in Risch.

One half belongs to Daniel Vasella himself, the ex-manager whose million-dollar bonuses once helped the “Rip-Off” Initiative (Abzockerinitiative) achieve a breakthrough. The other half belongs to his daughter and two sons.

A significant portion of the land lies outside the construction zone, and strict rules apply there.

For example, in principle, no new villas and houses are allowed to be built there.
